Song Lists

So I have twenty minutes before I leave for my wonderful job haha. Anyway, I have created a playlist for the engagement party. It ranges from Pat Benetar to Aha to Bon Jovi and Billy Joel. Also my favorite, You spin me right round! Anyway, it's full of 80's tunes and other favorites. We do have some Frankie Vallie on there, I need more suggestions I think it's pretty good though, this is my specialty but anything else that is a must, let me know and it will be on there. Has to be fun and upbeat, or cute and sweet. Nothing too crazy, no techno or emo. I mean, we can because I do enjoy but this is stuff that pretty much everyone must enjoy. =)

H.A.P.P.I.N.E.S.S.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

If you've noticed, I put up some pictures of the family and friends and even our pets. Yes, I copied the groom, which I do on most of this blog is. Ok! I get it, I'm a copy-cat! What can I say though? My future brother-in-law just inspires me haha. Funny story though, which you heard groom because you were there. At the wedding of a very close family friend, I was talking with my future brother-in-law about the insanity of the allergies that have taken control over my eyes and this woman told him and my boyfriend to stop harassing me or something along those lines, and in between the blindness and loud music I told her that he was my brother-in-law and that everything was alright and kind of laughed at her because I think she had a tad few too much. I know, you aren't actually my brother-in-law yet. A mistake too soon to be said? Eh whatever, you are pretty much my brother so I can call you whatever I want to call you. Yes, that's right, I told you! haha!

After looking at all the photo's of our family, I can not help but to feel happy. I'm happy to see how far we've all come and how we all really do love each other. It makes me even more happy to know that someone loves my sister the way that this groom does. I'm not envious or jealous because those are all negative. It gives me hope and understanding. It makes me happy to know that love like that does exist. You both are an inspiration to me and maybe this is a tad too emotional for a post on a website that everyone can see, and maybe this should be part of my speech for the both you, but it's alright. Out of all of the bad in the world and things that people give up on, you two stick by each other and learn from each other. You guys make each other smile and look at each other with honesty as well as passion. I'm not saying that you are perfect, because no one is, well maybe Nick Lachey but c'mon haha. Anyway, you've got it right and I really look forward to this upcoming year and everything we get to do together. I am especially looking forward to having a real brother and a bigger family.

Is that sappy enough for the two of you? Maybe mom is crying after reading this, who knows. Well, it's the truth and I love you both. High Five for being awesome!

And more of these exciting dreams....

With no response from CC yet, I have begun to create my own responses in my dreams. This is another one of my crazy, anxiety dreams...in it, I receive an email among many garbage emails that are immediately meant for the trash when I come across this big "YES!". I open the email and then, the astonishment hits! He responds with a giant "YES! I WOULD BE HONORED TO PLAY AT YOUR SISTERS WEDDING!" Then, after his 'sincerely CC' he also writes : "If you need any help at all with plans feel free to let me know". This is why, even in my dreams, he is the love of my life.

Also, check out this weeks PEOPLE, interesting story on how this woman's wedding almost got destroyed because was joking with her Bridesmaid's pretending to be "bridezilla!"

Glamours Dos and Don'ts and Speech therapy

As I'm reading my monthly dose of Glamour I came across this:

Glamour's 20 Wedding Dos and don't s. From dresses to hair and brides going beserk. It's tip for tying the knot without coming undone. On June 16 at 8pm. I'm assuming style channel? I don't know if there even is a style channel but that's what it says. So people, prepare to watch and learn!!! Get your notebooks out bc Glamour, here we come!

Glamour offered some speech therapy which got me thinking, so here go Groomsmen and Bridesmaids...

They say, the week before write the speech, start off by introducing yourself and either tell a funny story or touching story about the bride/groom that illustrates the couple's personality and what their bond special. AVOID inside jokes, and keep it clean. All speeches must be appropriate and then close the toast with the couples future.

One day before: REHEARSE the speech and trim it down to one or two minutes.

One hour before: Avoid the booze. You may think a few drinks will keep you mellow, but the best way to stay calm is to know that you are prepared.

One minute before: Have a sip of orange juice or something with sugar because sugar counteracts the jitters.

The second before: Smile, if you are happy people will forgive any mistakes because they will know that all your words are from your heart

Did you know that yearly, American's spend $77.5 BILLION on all things wedding related?....that is $258 per every man woman and child in the US.

Interesting huh? Glamour was full of interesting things this month...well until next time. =)

Another one....

So apparently I have a huge anxiety about being the Maid of Honor. I had a dream last night, and for some reason it was a mix of the engagement party and wedding. I was sent on an errand with "Coco's" (that's for you Groom haha) friend Sarah and somehow we were driving in a place where we had to drive on the wrong side of the road and under a bridge and I can't even explain but then we are talking I tell her how happy I am that my sister is getting married him and how he has become my brother and all of that sappy stuff haha...Then all of a sudden we end up in these white water rapids, or it could have just been of those really long slides you go down in one of those water parks, and then we ended up at the wedding. At this point things have calmed down but I feel the anxiety blowing up(in my dream of course) and it was time for my toast, and once again, the "cheese factor" set in and I actually tapped on a glass to get everyone's attention to begin my speech. Now all I can think about is what to say and how to say it with out saying too much. Maybe it was a sign to GET ON THE BALL!!

CC Updates Begin...

So after 3 emails, no response from CC yet, but maybe I'm very pleased to know that the song has been chosen. This is my goal. Everyday or week to send him an e-mail. I've been slacking, but I am trying. Now it has come time to try even harder!!!

The Perfect Shower....and dress???

So my idea's for the Bridal shower obviously can not be discussed on my blog, or what will be happening, but I know what I'm doing already, my theme for it and where it will be and when. YES! Score! Or should I say Homerun! (still learning the terms of baseball but at least I'm trying right? Well at least I know our shower will be way cooler than some

I've been thinking about dresses and what is appropriate for a Brides Maid...well correction, Maid of Honor and I know it's a little soon, but Her Vision has me thinking very much ahead. I know she loves Vera so I thought about this since it's black and white and I know my sister is all about that theme obviously some are too beautiful to imagine, or too obscene you just want to vomit. So then there was this one dress, on Verawang.com under the 13 page of the bridesmaid cocktails dresses and so I need your vote. Can this be part of your vision?

I was thinking .....

hehehehee =)

PS TO THE BRIDE AND GROOM

Oh the Anxiety!!!!

Image Hosting
So it has come time to begin posting again. My apologies for the lack of writing. A few weeks ago, it was late and I was sleeping. I dreamed that it was the day of the wedding and I was more than prepared. I had a printed out a 4 page itinerary(which I do intend to have, but it may not be exactly 4 pages but something along the lines of this so that they ...Anyway, so it's the day of the wedding. Got the hair did at Nubest(of course) and got all dressed. I was ready early so I decided to take a nap because it was my dream and I can nap in my dream. Then, after the ceremony, and half way through the reception, Mike shows up at the house and wakes me up!!! No one called to see where I was, no one woke me up, and of course, in the dream, my alarm is going off when I got woken up because that is what happens every morning...I sleep though it, really I do. The worst part is, NO ONE was mad at me and no one missed me!! (Even the bride!) How rude! (In the words of
Stephanie Tanner

Talk about anxiety! I'm already dreaming that I'm messing up, Oh the pressure!! haha.

Anway, I know that everything will be fine, I just hope the love birds are please with everything. =) and I'm super excited for it really get crackin!

Searching for the right one....

So the fam went searching this weekend for the right venue for the wedding. This bride knows exactly what she wants and she's gonna get it. But after all of this wedding talk, I started to think about my job alone. Here's my checklist so far:
1. Plan the bachelorette party
1a) Where are we going?
1b) Who does she want there?
1c) How expensive is it?
1d) What will we do once we all arive? and where will we go?
(Thank g-d she is not about to walk around with a penis around her neck or whatever else they do at Bachelorette parties. I'm glad with this will just be good fun and a night with the ladies...maybe a surprise here and there, but NO embarrassing moments haha).BACK TO THE LIST
1e) How drunk is she willing to get?

2. Planning the Bridal Shower
2a) Will she like it?
2b) Will it be a surprise?
2c) How do I make sure it is a surprise?

2d) How do I know that no one will spoil it?
2e) Where will it be?
3. The Speech
4. Making sure she is calm and happy through out the entire process and especially on the day
5. Making sure their day is just perfect.

One thing that I've realized is that
moneyis a serious issue once you start the process of a wedding. Well I don't care how poor I am, I'll spend every penny I have just to make this one right. I'll start actual research this week.

In freak wedding events this
Maid of Honor took a bullet at a Texas wedding in May which I thought made her quite the Maid of Honor.

And as for "Bad Bridesmaid's" check
this out.

Pleasing the Bride..

When first hearing of an engagement, you don't really understand exactly what is ahead unless you've been there. You really don't understand what is in store for you when you are the Bride's sister, and the Maid of Honor, especially since you've never been there. For all of you sisters and and first timers who are Maid's of honor, I hope I have created a blog that will guide you for the excitement that is in store. My future Brother-in-Law has created a blog called "Her Vision - The Perfect New York Wedding" ( http://herwayorthehighway.blogspot.com/) which details the ups and downs and different events while planning a New York Wedding. Well, I'm here to do the same thing but everything you have to understand about how important your job is as the Maid of Honor. My sister has already turned into Bridezilla will how picky she is and what she wants and where she wants it etc. I'm kidding about the Bridezilla, she just know what she wants and she's going to get it. As she says, you only get married once, you have to do it right. So as a first timer, my job as the Maid of Honor is to completely please her in everything she wants and needs.
